How we're dealing with COVID-19

Training

Adult volunteers are at the heart of Scouting, and we hope that you will get every bit as much out of it as you put in. Scouting is not only about young people, but also about the development of adults within the Movement.

To support our volunteers, District and County provide a comprehensive programme of training to build on existing skills and knowledge and develop new competencies. Some elements of training can count towards externally-recognised qualifications, and within the movement there are also awards to recognise dedication to training and outstanding service.

One of the key principles of the adult training scheme is flexibility. It's available to you whenever you want it. The scheme gives you the opportunity to learn at a time and place convenient to you. Make the most of the adult training scheme to see what you can discover.

Merseyside Scout County regularly run training events for adults and young leaders. These cover everything from the introductory 'Getting Started' sessions all the way up to the six modules required for becoming a warranted leader. For information about training, please consult Merseyside Scouts Training , Scouts UK Training or for any local queries, contact the Local Training Manager

Please note that due to the Coronavirus pandemic, most of the training is now being conducted through online Microsoft Teams sessions. Courses such as First Aid that require face-to-face sessions are currently suspended however we are working on ways to safely run them.
